Definition
Cloud computing refers to the delivery of computing services including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence over the Internet. This model allows for faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale, enabling organizations to access IT resources on demand without large upfront investments. Organizations leverage the cloud to host applications, store data, and utilize powerful processing capabilities, enhancing agility and reducing operational burdens. For instance, a startup might use cloud services to quickly deploy its web application without purchasing and managing its own physical servers. While often used interchangeably with the internet, cloud computing specifically refers to the services and infrastructure provided over it. This concept is fundamental to many IT certifications, including AWS solutions architect and CCSP exams.
