AWS CloudFormation is a service that helps you model and set up your Amazon Web Services resources. You can use CloudFormation to create a template, written in JSON or YAML, that describes all the AWS resources you need, such as Amazon EC2 instances, databases, and virtual private clouds. CloudFormation then takes care of provisioning and configuring those resources for you in an automated fashion. This approach ensures that your infrastructure is consistently deployed and managed, reducing manual errors and saving time. For instance, you could use CloudFormation to automatically spin up a web server, database, and load balancer for a new application. Unlike Infrastructure as Code tools that might require more manual scripting, CloudFormation uses declarative templates to define your desired state. This service is frequently tested on AWS certification exams like the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate and cloud security certifications.
