Considerations

Definition

Considerations are the factors and variables that must be taken into account when planning, implementing, or managing technology solutions. They represent the potential impacts, risks, and requirements that influence decision-making throughout the technology lifecycle. Understanding and addressing these considerations ensures that solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with organizational goals. For instance, when deploying a new cloud service, considerations might include data privacy regulations, network latency, and integration with existing systems. This differs from a requirement, which is a mandatory feature or function, as considerations are potential influences that may or may not lead to specific actions. This concept is fundamental across many IT certifications, including CompTIA Security+ and AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate.
