CompTIA CASP+ Is Becoming SecurityX

CompTIA has rebranded its advanced-level cybersecurity certification, formerly known as CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), to CompTIA SecurityX as part of the new CompTIA Xpert series. The updated certification, along with the release of the next exam version CAS-005, is set to launch on December 17, 2024, replacing the current exam version, CAS-004.

CompTIA SecurityX is an expert-level cybersecurity certification tailored for security architects and senior security engineers tasked with enhancing and managing an organization’s cybersecurity posture. As part of CompTIA’s advanced “Xpert” certification series, SecurityX focuses on equipping professionals with the skills required for high-level cybersecurity roles.

The transition from CASP+ to SecurityX will not impact the certification status of current CASP+ holders, nor will it affect the continuing education program.

If you currently hold an active CASP+ certification, you’ll receive a notification to download the new SecurityX badge. Updated transcripts and certificates reflecting the rebrand will also be available in CertMetrics for download.

The rebranded CompTIA SecurityX training and certification will continue to:
