The Daily Scrum, often called the Daily Standup, is a short, time-boxed event for the Scrum Team to synchronize activities and create a plan for the next 24 hours. It is a key event in the Scrum framework, designed to improve communication, identify impediments, and promote quick decision-making. During the Daily Scrum, team members typically discuss what they accomplished yesterday, what they will do today, and any obstacles blocking their progress. This daily synchronization helps ensure everyone is aligned with the Sprint Goal and can quickly address any emerging issues, preventing them from derailing progress. For instance, a developer might mention a dependency on another team that is causing a delay, allowing the Scrum Master to help resolve it. Unlike a status meeting, the Daily Scrum focuses on progress toward the Sprint Goal and is for the Developers, not just for reporting to management. This event is a core component of agile methodologies tested on exams like the PMP, CAPM, and PMI-ACP.
