The ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) Training Course with Accumentum is for people applying to nursing and allied health programs that use the TEAS for admission. ATI writes and delivers the exam and lists four content areas: Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage.
The exam has 170 questions and 209 minutes of testing time. 150 questions count toward your score and 20 are unscored pretest items. Along with standard multiple choice, you’ll see multiple select, fill in the blank, ordered response, and hot spot items, so we practice every format.
Science carries the most weight, with 44 scored questions, and human anatomy and physiology accounts for 18 of them. An ATI team member has named human anatomy, chemistry, and geometry among the most missed topics on the exam, so those get extra time in the course.
There’s no single passing score. Each program sets its own, and your school also decides where you can test and how often you can retake. We’ll help you build a study plan around your school’s deadline, but check your program’s rules before you register for the exam.

- Know the test day rules, including photo ID, the optional 10 minute break after the Math section, and what is and isn’t allowed in the room.

ATI’s current exam is ATI TEAS Version 7. It has 170 questions and 209 minutes of testing time. Reading has 45 questions in 55 minutes, Math has 38 questions in 57 minutes, Science has 50 questions in 60 minutes, and English and Language Usage has 37 questions in 37 minutes. Of the 170 questions, 150 are scored and 20 are unscored pretest items.
You can take the TEAS four ways: online with a remote proctor from ATI (TEAS at ATI), online with a remote proctor from a school, in person on a school campus, or at a PSI testing center. PSI also offers a remote option. Some schools only accept scores from exams taken on their own campus, so ask your school before you pick.
ATI lists the exam fee for TEAS at ATI and TEAS at PSI as $120 plus applicable sales tax. Schools set their own price for exams they proctor. For TEAS at ATI and TEAS at PSI, the fee covers one attempt and one transcript to the school you choose. Extra transcripts are $29.99 each, and TEAS registrations aren’t refundable. Active duty service members, spouses, and dependents can request a discounted registration from ATI.
ATI reports a total score, a score for each content area, and sub-content area scores, all on a 0 to 100 percent scale. The total and content area scores are adjusted for differences between test forms, so they can be compared across versions of the exam. There’s no universal passing score. Each program sets the score it wants, and schools decide how long a score stays valid. ATI says two years is common.
ATI doesn’t require a waiting period between attempts, but your school may limit how often you can test, and each attempt is a new registration at full price. Exams scheduled on atitesting.com can be rescheduled for $15 at least 48 hours ahead, to a date within 30 days of the original. PSI exams are changed through PSI at least 2 days before the test date.
Testing accommodations are available for every testing option, and whoever proctors your exam reviews the request. For TEAS at ATI, send your request and documentation to ATI at least 30 days before you plan to test. For a school-proctored exam, ask the school. For PSI, use PSI’s accommodation request form. Accommodations can’t be added on test day.
