Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Professional Certification Training Course
We'll get you ready for the Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Professional exam, which covers the full Palo Alto Networks network security portfolio and is one of the paths Palo Alto Networks recommends after the PCNSE retirement.
What the Network Security Professional course covers and who it's for.
Palo Alto Networks retired PCNSE on July 31, 2025. Its recommended next steps include Network Security Professional, Network Security Analyst, NGFW Engineer, SSE Engineer and SD-WAN Engineer. For most PCNSE candidates, Network Security Professional is the place to start.
Per Palo Alto Networks, the exam validates knowledge of all products and services in the network security solution plus entry-level configuration, maintenance and deployment. We follow the six domains in the official datasheet. Platform solutions, services and tools is the heaviest at 30%, so it gets the most time.

Cover the Whole Blueprint
Work through all 6 domains in the official Network Security Professional datasheet, weighted the way the exam weights them.
Go Deep on Platform Solutions, Services, and Tools
Platform Solutions, Services, and Tools is 30% of the exam score per Palo Alto Networks, so it gets the most class time.
Practice in a Lab
Hands-on lab work on the tasks the Network Security Professional blueprint lists, not just slides.
Be Ready for Test Day
The exam is in person at a Pearson VUE test center with multiple choice, matching and ordering items. We practice all three.
Who Should Attend
- Network and security staff who install, run or administer Palo Alto Networks NGFWs.
- Admins working with Cloud-Delivered Security Services subscriptions or SASE.

How we approach Network Security Professional prep.
The weights tell you where to spend your hours. Platform Solutions, Services, and Tools leads at 30%.
Keep the official datasheet open while you study and tick off each objective as you finish it. That is the simplest way to find your gaps before exam day.
Our course follows the same blueprint, with on demand lessons you can pause and replay, and our students pass at a 98.8% rate across Accumentum courses.
The rules around Network Security Professional.
Palo Alto Networks certifications, Network Security Professional included, are valid for two years from the day you pass. To stay active you recertify by passing the exam again.
Passing a higher level exam in the same track automatically extends your active lower level certifications in that track by two years.
If you don't pass, you get a results report broken down by domain. Palo Alto Networks requires a 15 day wait before a second attempt, 30 days before a third and 90 days before any attempt after that. After a pass you can't sit the same exam again for 18 months.
Exams are delivered in English through Pearson VUE, and candidates testing in non English speaking countries get a 30 minute time extension by default. Your badge and certificate come through Credly.
Where Network Security Professional can take you.
Network Security Professional fits network and security engineers, firewall administrators and support staff who work with Strata NGFWs and Prisma SASE. It is the broad network security exam in the current Palo Alto Networks lineup.
For a sense of pay, BLS puts the May 2025 median annual wage for information security analysts at $129,180. BLS also projects employment of information security analysts to grow 21 percent from 2025 to 2035, much faster than the average for all occupations. A median is the midpoint, so half earned more and half earned less, and your own pay will depend on location, experience and employer. Source: BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook.
