Scrum Events

PathTerms

Definition

Scrum Events are fixed timeboxed opportunities within the Scrum framework for inspection and adaptation. These events provide regular opportunities for the Scrum Team to synchronize activities and create plans for the next Sprint. They are crucial for maintaining transparency, enabling effective collaboration, and ensuring the project stays on track towards its goals. For example, the Daily Scrum allows the Development Team to inspect progress toward the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary. Unlike ad hoc meetings, Scrum Events occur at predictable intervals, fostering a consistent rhythm for the team. These events are fundamental to Scrum and are frequently tested on the PMP, CAPM, and PMI-ACP examinations.
