Data protection and governance is the biggest domain at 35 to 40%, so we spend real time on Purview, sensitivity labels and oversharing controls before moving on to Copilot and agent admin tasks.
Microsoft's study guide expects you to know the Microsoft 365 admin centers for Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra and Purview. You should be able to name core objects like users, groups, teams, sites and libraries, and explain authentication methods, Conditional Access and single sign-on.

Inside the Course
A closer look at each AB-900 domain.
The first domain covers what Microsoft 365 is made of. You'll learn the core services, how users, groups, teams, sites and libraries relate, and which admin center controls what. That sounds basic, but it's where most Copilot surprises start, because a site shared with everyone is a site Copilot can surface to everyone.
The second domain is the largest and it's about data. You'll work with sensitivity labels, data loss prevention, retention and the oversharing controls Microsoft added for Copilot. We show how each one changes what Copilot can see and say, using real admin center screens.
The third domain is Copilot and agent administration. You'll cover licensing, turning features on and off, managing agents, and reading usage reports so you can show leaders whether the rollout is working. By the end you'll be able to explain a Copilot rollout plan to your manager in plain terms.
