AI Business Professional (AB-730) Certification Training Course

We'll get you ready for Exam AB-730, Microsoft's credential for business users who put Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents to work every day.

Course focus: Generative AI basics, prompting, Copilot in Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint and Excel, and using agents for business outcomes, mapped to the AB-730 study guide.
Course Overview

What the AB-730 course covers and who it's for.

Per Microsoft, AB-730 is for people who use Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Cowork and prebuilt agents to improve daily work and make better decisions, without building AI apps or writing code.

We teach it hands-on in the apps you already use. Generative AI fundamentals is the biggest domain at 25 to 30%, then prompts and chats, business content and collaboration, and agents.

Per the study guide, you should know prompt engineering, context engineering and large language models, and use Copilot tools like notebooks and pages. You should be comfortable in Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint and Excel and with everyday work like drafting emails, building presentations, generating images and managing documents.

Most teams already have Copilot licenses and few people use them well. AB-730 is proof that you can turn Copilot and prebuilt agents into time saved on real work, without writing code.

Inside the Course

A closer look at each AB-730 domain.

The course starts with generative AI basics. What a large language model does, why prompts and context matter, and where AI makes mistakes. Microsoft wants you to know the risks, like inaccuracies, prompt injection and over-reliance, so we cover checking output and protecting sensitive data too.

From there you'll work in Copilot every day apps. Writing and refining prompts in chat, drafting and rewriting in Word, building decks in PowerPoint, analyzing data in Excel, and catching up on meetings and threads in Teams and Outlook. Each lesson uses a real business task, not a toy example.

The content and collaboration domain covers notebooks, pages and sharing Copilot output with your team. You'll learn when to keep work in a notebook, when to turn it into a page, and how to keep shared content accurate.

The final domain is agents. You'll use prebuilt agents and Copilot Cowork to automate repeat work and see where an agent saves time versus where a person still needs to decide. By the end you'll have a short list of Copilot habits you can use at work the next day.

Bring real work to class if you can. Students who practice on their own emails, documents and meetings remember the prompts far better than those who only use samples.
