PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)™ Training Course
Prepare for the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)™ exam with focused review of contracts, stakeholder engagement, scope, and governance on construction and built environment projects.
What our PMI-CP course prepares you to do.
Construction projects live and die by their contracts and the relationships around them. Our PMI-CP training course is an exam review for construction professionals who want to show they can lead, plan, and manage contracts in a demanding industry.
PMI describes the PMI-CP as the only internationally recognized certification with an in-depth curriculum on the construction industry. It prepares construction project managers to lead, plan, and manage contracts and to navigate industry challenges.
Contracts Management carries 50% of the exam and Stakeholder Engagement carries 30%, so most of our time goes there. We also cover Strategy and Scope Management at 15% and Project Governance at 5%.
Before you apply, PMI requires you to complete four PMI-CP foundational course modules. PMI offers them as self paced courses, and PMI Authorized Training Partners also offer them live. Our course does not replace those required modules. We help you review the exam domains and get ready for exam day after you complete them.
Build PMI-CP readiness and practical skill.

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and a 230 minute time limit. PMI lists languages including English, Arabic, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.
The exam covers Contracts Management 50%, Stakeholder Engagement 30%, Strategy and Scope Management 15%, and Project Governance 5%.

How we pace the PMI-CP course.
Our PMI-CP course has 4 modules, one for each PMI domain. Contracts Management is the largest domain at 50% of the exam, so it gets the most class time and practice.
Plan on steady weekly study between sessions. Read ahead in the PMI references, connect each topic to your own work, and bring real examples to class. In the final sessions we review weak spots domain by domain so you go into the exam with a clear plan.
PMI-CP career outlook and pay data.
Construction is one of the biggest employers of project professionals in the country. The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists construction as 22 percent of project management specialist jobs and reports a median annual wage of $102,320 for the occupation in May 2025, with 7 percent growth projected from 2025 to 2035. PMI-CP is built for that world, so it speaks the language owners, general contractors and design teams use every day.
Our domain by domain PMI-CP study plan.
We follow the weights PMI publishes for the PMI-CP exam, so the domains that count most get the most class time. Here is how we break it down.
Contracts Management (50%)
Contracts Management is half of the exam, so it gets half of our time. We work through contract types, change orders, claims, dispute resolution and how to manage scope against the contract.
Stakeholder Engagement (30%)
Stakeholder Engagement is 30 percent. We cover owners, designers, trades, regulators and communities, and how to keep them aligned when the job gets hard.
Strategy and Scope Management (15%)
Strategy and Scope Management is 15 percent. We look at how project strategy, scope definition and constructability shape the work long before ground is broken.
Project Governance (5%)
Project Governance is 5 percent. It is small, but we still review decision structures, reporting and compliance so nothing on exam day catches you off guard.
Mistakes we help PMI-CP candidates avoid.
The most common mistake is treating PMI-CP like PMP with a hard hat. It is not. The weight on contracts means you need to read scenarios the way a contract administrator would, and that takes practice. We also see people skip the four PMI foundational modules until the last minute. You need them done before you can test, so we help you plan around them from day one.
In the last sessions we run timed practice, review every weak domain and build a short plan for the final two weeks before your exam date.
Applying for and keeping your PMI-CP.
You apply through PMI, and PMI decides eligibility. Here are the requirements PMI publishes today.
- Complete the four PMI-CP foundational course modules. PMI lists each self paced module as a 6 to 10 hour commitment.
- Have 3 years of on the job experience in construction or built environment projects within the past 10 years.
- Our course is exam review and does not count as the four required PMI modules.
- You can take the exam at a Pearson VUE testing center or securely online.
PMI-CP holders keep the credential active through PMI continuing certification requirements. We point you to PMI's current rules in myPMI so you can plan your professional development units alongside your project work.

How we make PMI-CP practical.
A real construction scenario runs through every session. You start with a design and build contract for a mid size commercial building, and each week something changes. The owner adds scope, a trade partner submits a claim, a supplier slips, or a neighbor raises a concern at a public meeting. You decide what to do, defend it with the contract, and compare your answer with the reasoning PMI expects.
This keeps the contract domain practical. By the end of the course you have read and argued through more change orders and claims than most people see in a year, and exam questions start to feel familiar instead of abstract.
We also show you how PMI-CP fits with other credentials. Many learners add PMI-SP later for scheduling depth or PMP for broader project leadership, and we help you map that path.
